JSR Group was founded in 2007 as a vehicle to enable visionary, entrepreneurial, for-profit enterprises and thus provide the means to support Collateral Growth Foundation, Incorporated (CGF) projects. CGF is a North Carolina based 501(c)3 non-profit foundation with a mission of "Empowering communities to meet their future".
Mr. Michael S. Harrington, our president, is a product of the explosion in the use of large-scale affordable, business computers. From his corporate beginnings in the mid-1960's, immediately upon his honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps (USMC), he has worked for software development companies.
Such as Network Data Processing and Cybertek Computer Products, which was founded by a former IBM salesman and one of the architects on an IBM development team which included Ross Parot, of EDS fame, who was then another IBM salesman.
Mr. Harrington also worked for insurance companies, including American International Group (AIG) for whom he spent several years in Hong Kong as the Management Information Systems Officer (MISO) for the Asia-Pacific rim and was responsible directly to the AIG-MIS council, chaired by Hank Greenberg; for all life-division systems development, at 11 AIG companies, located in 10 countries.
His experience and his nearly author-like view of data processing/information management is invaluable in this global, fast-paced, data-driven world; and is the basis of an innovative approach to his business endeavors, which often lends an insight that others miss.
Also, in 2007, JSR Group acquired 100% of Jewelry Designers Resource Center (JDRC); an enterprise that provides just about anything a jewelry designer needs. JDRC also operates under the trade name www.lapel-pins.org its arm that designs and manufactures challenge coins, lapel pins, custom jewelry and other promotional/giveaway items.
JSR Group, in keeping with its stated goals, acquired 40% of MBR Business Consulting Enterprises, Incorporated (Philippines) in early 2008, and subsequently retained them to provide administrative support for all JSR Group projects, both within the Philippines and globally.
In late 2010, JSR Group purchased 25% of First Energy Solution Manufacturing Corporation (FESMC). FESMC is a young, Philippine based company providing, renewable, affordable, off-the-grid, energy systems. Since becoming an active FESMC partner, JSR Group has setup a local distribution network.
Which includes an international realty company, a local construction supply outlet, a development project on Davao Island and the owner of a housing compound in Iba, Philippines.
